LennonNZ: Lets see.. I have quite a number of AT&T sim cards from gen1 iphones that aren't used.. but as I said in my previous post.. wait until tomorrow and I might have an easier way of doing it

Tried an AT&T sim from my Gen 1 and it didn't work, probably because it is not connected to any network. I am interested to hear what your easier way is?

Vodafone should have another limit - $3 for 50MB after the $1..

This would entice more people to data, and also let people who download songs or games a more reasonable price to pay for paid items.

More is not always better! This could cause issues like blocking (network busy)

With more and more data devices coming out the iphone, wouldn't it be a good idea to increase network capacity? or do phone companies want to avoid doing this using expensive data charges and low caps?

Brother, Vodafone "should" have whole lot of other things too.

Forget about us going over 10Mb for our $1 per day.

Think of poor (is it too much to say potentially stupid?) iPhone 250 contract purchasers locked in for 2 years with 250Mb data per day.

Network capacity is always worked on! it never stands still for any carrier.

Network congestion...

More devices (not just the iPhone) have more and more new applications for use. This means that we become more connected to the Internet. Some new mobiles come with messaging clients, YouTube, and Java games compared to just plain simple XHTML browsers.

I really hope that good data caps for casual users will come by the end of the year.

Back on topic, it's good to see that it's working... better hope that "simplier" method really beats this one!

Well said Scott, I was begining to think this was getting very off topic. Please stop posting off topic. I made a couple of posts about costs to make a point to people to be careful when using this. I didn't intend for that to open this thread up to start talking about other things.

This thread is about the 3G iPhone being able to use Data on Prepay.

Apple has posted an iPhone Enterprise support page to assist corporate customers looking to take advantage of the new capabilities of the iPhone 2.0 software. The page includes a link to a detailed Enterprise Deployment Guide (PDF) providing setup assistance for these enterprise users.

Apple has also released a configuration utility to assist system administrators with creating configuration profiles that will allow users' devices to communicate with their enterprise systems.

Configuration profiles are XML files that contain device security policies, VPN configuration information, Wi-Fi settings, APN settings, Exchange account settings, mail settings, and certificates that permit iPhone and iPod touch to work with your enterprise systems.

Three versions of the configuration utility are available, a standalone OS X application and web-based applications for both Mac and Windows:
- iPhone Configuration Utility 1.0 for Mac OS X (8.77 MB)
- iPhone Configuration Web Utility 1.0 for Mac (2.29 MB)
- iPhone Configuration Web Utility 1.0 for Windows (5.18 MB)
