afe66: Always mystified me why Facebook thinks we care about their inability to track us.

I think the elephant in the room is Google. They are secretly worse and nobody is making as much noise. Maybe that's why?

Batman: On an android you can choose not to install FB.

But how do you stop Google from tracking you on an Android... Someone please advice

I'm pretty sure some phones won't let you remove Facebook, maybe Samsung?

As for Google not tracking you on an Android phone, good luck with that.

Even if you don't install the FB app, other apps are tracking you and sending the data to FB. On Android, you don't know which apps these are, nor can you opt out.

You can't stop Google from tracking you on Android - Google are hard-baked into the Android OS. It's for this reason I moved to iPhone.

You would have to move to a custom ROM such as LineageOS (https://lineageos.org/)

Unfortunately using push notifications requires Google services so that's another thing you would have to forgo.

For me, its that I know google is tracking me and I choose to buy an android phone.

Just like all apple users know apple is tracking them too.

I quite strongly object to facebook tracking me when I dont have a facebook account or any interest if being part of their ecosystem.

Anyone know is/can our governments sign up to be a "partner" for our private data that they would otherwise be restricted from collecting?
