Will confirm the CX-5 in a couple of hours.  Just did the upgrade on the olds and got home to see this about the vehicle.

Carplay seemed to work ok in my Mazda 3 (MZD Connect), the dealer did at my last service upgrade the head-unit firmware version to 70.00.367 if that is of any help

@alasta Both wireless and wired CarPlay works fine on the 2021 CX-5 with the 8” MZD infotainment screen with iOS 14.8 on iPhone X.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Thanks everyone for reporting back regarding the Mazda system. I will proceed with the update now as it sounds like the problem is likely to be isolated.

I meant to update this to confirm that I did the update last week and CarPlay worked fine when I used my CX-5 over the weekend. So, whatever the problem is it's clearly not widespread.
