I’ve been trialling vaultwarden (bitwarden clone) and bitwarden.   Vaultwarden great in docker.

and the iOS app is very good as well.

but on a pc they don’t have a patch on keepass.   Especially if you run the global hot keys over browser extensions (attack vector).

the bitwarden client for windows can’t listen for hotkeys to enter credentials in steam, rdp clients.   Meaning it’s only of use for browsers with extensions or manual copy paste.

My sweet spot would be bitwarden backend with keepass for windows front end and the bitwarden iOS apps.

Built in function through iCloud works mint as demonstrated by moving to a new device where you end up with a clone of the old.

One trick to sync a password back to your pc is to fire up Chrome on the iDevice and save it to your google account.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

If they only use MacOS and iOS then use Keychain as others have said it's all built in, secure and syncs across devices.

Personally I use Bitwarden across MacOS, Android and on occasion when my token Windows PC gets fired up.  I don't have an iPhone to compare performance.

Thanks team. Just closing the loop on this, the iOS / iCloud / Keychain option has been set up and seems to be sufficiently user friendly that it is actually being used instead of recycling the same insecure password repeatedly. Sign of high approval indeed.
