I know we all got to see this but most usually click past.  The “meh” post above inspired me to share the list of changes in iOS26.

(Warning - Long skinny image😂)

I’ve been using the beta since early in the dev version and have been pretty impressed with it. I like the Liquid Glass look, the spacial photos on the wallpapers etc along with a number of other changes. I’ve also found it to be generally very responsive (iPhone 15 Pro).

It's nibbling around the edges with enhancements and minor changes. There's nothing there that's going to make a significant difference to the way I use my phone.

It's fine, it nothing I find particularly exciting so, meh.

Thats a key strength to the iphone. It works.

When you have a mature product, changes can often only be incremental. The real omission though with the iphone over android is split screen and running and displaying two apps at the same time, even though ipads have had it for years. The dynamic island provides it a little, as does picture in picture mode for video. But it is a PITA to have to switch between apps when working on two apps at the same time.

Updated yesterday. No initial issues and pretty happy so far.  Phone feels a lot snappier in certain apps/screens (15 pro).

My iPhone 15 upgraded overnight to 18.7 - is this 26 version some sort of beta or option?

Thats the final version of iOS 18. Obviously iOS26 is labeled that way ver 26.0

iPad and iPhone now have favicons on bookmarks in Safari. Nice touch.

For anyone with battery drain, try a battery calibration - Run until 0% and then perform an unbroken charge to 100%, this might help.

iOS26 feels like change for the sake of change, not for the sake of improvement..

However for my Airpods Pro 2, oh my Gawd the ANC has been significantly improved.
I appreciate Apple not locking the H2 firmware upgrade to the new buds only, for their flaws it's pleasant to have this massive performance boost to a product which is 2 years old now.

Why are they prompting 18.x upgrades instead of 26.x ?

The Software Update menu gives an option at the bottom for iOS 26, but they don't force people onto the new version at release by default anymore.

Have been on iOS26 since the initial beta release. As with the past few Betas I've found it quite stable as they add and rollback features each week or so.

Honestly i don't find it that much of a change but I've been using it so long now i don't really remember what it was like before.
The best feature has actually been having Siri answering unknown phonecalls. Everyone asks if i have a personal assistant :P

The Glass interface is nice but I'm running a Pro Max 12 and it doesn't really offer anything amazing there.

Looking to upgrade about now and trying to figure out if i just go for a last of 16 Pro Max or just go the 17.
Was tempted slightly with the air as it does enough but I'm pretty particular about wanting good photos most of all and it doesn't do spatial either for future headset opportunities.

Call filtering would be nice but you cannot screen only one SIM. I've got a work sim inserted and a personal on the ESIM. My role requires me to field calls from anyone in the company that may need help so can't screen it with the new settings, but I'd love to screen the personal SIM.

Just installed iOS 26 on my ipad. What a visual mess liquid glass has made of the Home Screen and icons. Why Apple why? Wish there was an uninstall option. Haven’t upgraded my iphone but with a 17 on order my days are numbered.

Ps. “Reduce transparency” in settings reduces the impact from totally horrible to manageable horrible, but horrible nonetheless.
