arnie posted this from his thread IPHONE 3RD GEN ON XT NETWORK "

Anyway what do you think the chances of Telecom getting the iPhone will be? I'm lookinf to get one on XT but think tis better to wait for a 32GB model with upgraded hardware etc (which is heavily rumoured to come out July 17th in USA [and worldwide??]).

so yes son...seems others in this forum are commenting to july release

Look all I'm saying is at least be open to the possibility that the tag is old, as suggested by myself and everyone else who has replied, instead of immediately taking the defensive and telling us all to prove you and Vodafone wrong! Personally I think the evidence and suggestions are overwhelmingly against what you're saying and it's more plausible than not that the tag is old, but hey that's just my opinion!

I agree that 17th July as speculated by other sites would be a likely release date, but I really don't think the tag on that page of Vodafone's is the best argument to use for an 11th July release.

I hope Telecom do get the new version as well, am sick and tired of the constant drop to GPRS and the crap building penetration. I'd love to change now but just gonna wait until WWDC to see what is announced first.

i hear ya.. regarding the vodafone website..i noted the 2009 copyright at the bottom before i made the post..so based on that plus other comments on this forum as well as other web sites the july 11th seemed plausable

i do agree with you that yes..vodafone mayhaps left an old banner on the site..this would be 50/50 they did and they didnt?

another commentator mentioned july 11th lands on a saturday..i dont know if thats a maket ploy OR perhaps refers to july 11th 2008

either way what i simply have done is bring to everyone who reads this post, an observation..if i,m wrong..then so be it..however you cant help but notice in these forums that a lot of stuff raised here regarding new techologies is quite simpy some speculation ..re the xt network start up date..how many commentators were speculating on that ?

constructive comments are welcome..put downs will always get a due response dont you think?

Someone lock this thread before it gets out of control. Its clearly (in my opinion) an old ALT tag.

While I'd love to see some "easter eggs" dropped on Vodafone site, I will agree with the other and go for the only logical explanation, and that is that Vodafone has not updated their site since the 11th July 2008 release, so what you are seeing there is just old stuff.

Since Apple is so strict in terms of releasing information about unannounced products, I don't think Vodafone would risk losing the ability to sell this device here because of an alt tag.

I think this discussion is not going anywhere so I will lock the thread
