The question was out of curiosity as I have never used an iPhone, nor been inclined to buy one, I would line up overnight for Metallica tickets and some people it seems would line up overnight for an iPhone, but I guess some people wouldn't.

I was curious as to what all the hype was over.

Maybe I am just old.

Hey, I have a serious question about the iPhone: where do you put it?  Ever since Acatel made a 103g cellphone (One Touch 301) in 2001 I have been able to keep my cellphone in my shirt pocket, on vibrate and basically forget about it from the time I get dressed until I go to bed.  Over the years weight has dropped to mid 60's for the last 3 years and I can now get a 10mm thick 66g Nokia 2630.  So where do you put your iPhone?  This would make or break it for me, having to carry it around and be within 7 seconds of answering it before calls went to voicemail.  As a PDA however, it'd be great.

Always keep a touch screen phone it your side pocket not your back pocket with the screen facing your body.

What side pocket?  The only side pockets I have are in my jacket, which I only wear in winter, and there is no way I'd put it there anyway, as it'd almost certainly fall out.

Just not in any pocket where you will lean or sit on the phone

Ok, but for any iPhone owners here, where do you keep your iPhone?

I am loving the touch screen sensitivity, far better than previous touch screen devices i have owned.
I would be very interested in comparing to a new HTC.
My old htc titan was cool .. well untill i got the iphone, now i realise the touch screen was crap :)

I do still sorta miss windows mobile thou .. sorta ...

Front right pocket of pants, screen facing leg. Wallet in left.

When I'm carrying both, they both fit side by side in my right-front jeans pocket for civvies, and when in work clothes the personal one is in the breast pocket of my jacket, or on the dock at my desk.

billgates: Makes a very good paper weight.

@freitasm - Have you used/seen the new Touch Flo 3D? I actually like it a lot and the Touch Diamond 2 and Touch Pro 2 start menu is just like the Iphone UI.

I like that bit. Dissing it, then saying one of the features he likes is one similar to the iPhone Yell

until: the iphone can let me talk on the phone on my BT AND facebook then switch to replying to email, and looking up my friend's replies to tweets while within facebook, like my 3 year old blackberry ... I won't get an iphone ;)

There are just too many things about the iPhone I DON'T like that I can't get my head around wanting one.

I'm sure if I had one I would learn to love it, but the camera is pants, the lack of multitasking and the non-user-changeable battery (along with crap battery life) and non-upgradeable memory really cheeses me off...although the 3GS is now available in 32GB, so not too bad. My Classic is full though, so it could never replace that. When they have a decent camera, a 120GB+ drive and replaceable battery with decent life - then I may look at one.
