Better buy from Vodafone full price. If you buy overseas you won't have any warranty here.

warrenty just send it to aussie for warrenty we pop over there alot no worries and on a 32gb Ill save about 250 nzd anyway

I was talking to my friend that works at a Vodafone store in Auckland (non official Vodafone store) tonight and they said the following:

"16GB is $699 on $40 plan, $649 on $60 plan, $599 on $80 plan and $499 on $130 plan
and 32GB is those but add $250 to each"

Buying the iPhone 3G S outright will not give us any special deals AT ALL in terms of free stuff or new cheaper data rates.

And something about "Vodafone are offering extra 1GB data free to match telecoms pricing for all iPhone plan customers" not sure what that means.

Oh and I hear that only ONE Auckland store will be selling the iPhone 3G S outright at launch? Doesn't sound right?

Don't quote me if I am incorrect but do if this does turn out to be correct :P
Actually just consider the above to be rumours at this stage guys.

I'm assuming that Prepay Data 'plans' on SupaPrepay will work on the 3GS?

I rarely make calls, but I receive quite a few. I'm thinking I might just buy the 3GS outright, continue with prepay as I have for years (using my TrueReward points from my ASB Mastercard to buy time) and buy $10 for 100MB whenever I need it.

Is there a flaw in my logic?

thats what i do now.. superprepay and 100megs data thing is depends on how u use phone. if u dont watch videos or use gps use wifi 99% of time for your data u are sweet but start going to a bunch of web pages all the time and using the 3g to pull plenty og data and youll need alot more than 100 megs a month

Same for me as well. SupaPrepay with 1 BestMate and Broadband Lite (100MB). And if needed I can always purchase a 100MB addon.

If you are going to buy it outright, wouldn't it be far more beneficial to put it onto the XT network, and use it from there? Owing to better 3G coverage, speeds and so on.

Also that on Telecom XT you have SMS bundles to ANY network. It makes sense to use the iPhone (3G and newer) on Telecom's network...

You would actually think apple want telecom to get the iphone because their network actually fully supports it, since ive changed iphone to XT never looked back (and it is a long way back)
