bazzer: I'd pursue the matter with Eking. I don't think I'd let them get away with that, personally. They are trying it on, knowing that most people wouldn't bother taking it further.
No point, apart from being a waste of time and effort, I have managed to Root it and install a custom Android 2.2 ROM which also gives me the ability to install to the SD card etc so at this point in time, i am totally happy with it.
