Yup. OTA downloaded fine. Got all my apps etc onto my new 4S no issues. Staying on Voda.

Ran a speedtest in palmy on the 4S (Run from halfway down Edgeware Road just off one of the Palmy North main drags):
Old 3GS got about 1Mbps ... if lucky ...

I purchased the 64gb 4s today, from a Telecom retail store.

In addition, I ported both my mobile from Vodafone to Telecom.

The Telecom plans offer better value for my usage patterns. Lance Wiggs has provided a provider analysis at http://lancewiggs.com/

Mr. Wiggs writes...

"So while Telecom is cheapest now, whatever you do don?t sign up to a contract. Your use will change a lot over the next 2 years, and so will the prices in the market. The rebate you get on a phone is small compared to month after month of restricted service or very high data charges versus competition. A few hundred dollars now might cost you a couple of hundred dollars a month down the track."

I agree, 2 years is a long time.

Is it possible to do Facebook status updates via Siri, or would this require the Facebook developers to integrate their app with the Siri API? Does such an API even exist?

API does not exist just yet but I can imagine it will all be integrated at some point in the near future.

You can't open apps with Siri, but once open you can dictate your update instead of using the keyboard. Hopefully the APIs will come a bit further down the 'beta' stage as would be great just to be able to do Facebook, twitter etc updates straight into Siri

As the others are saying it isn't possible to update through the facebook app direct from Siri but if you're on telecom or vodafone who offer text updates it's possible to update your status by just sending a text to facebook which you can do through Siri. Same thing applies to twitter.

Im loving Siri. Battery life is awful though, probably chewing through it at twice the rate as my iPhone 4 did.

Guys.

What is a good quality screen protector?

I got a 2 pack and bubbles everywhere, even the sticker to hold it with wouldn't unpeel without tearing.

I think my iPhone4 one was Gecko. Also needs to install easily, this one would not go bubblefree, so dang frustrating. Or I may go naked, given that I don't carry it in my pocket with card, coins, keys. Any suggestions on if going naked is wise?

Yup. Did it at the same time as setting up the phone, so I don't have a comparison to battery use under 5.0.0, but with 5.0.1 it still seems to drain at about 4-5% per hour even when not being used, much higher than my experience with the iPhone 4.

No! Don't do it, I took my gecko clear ( yes those are ok) protector off in the pub one night as the corner lifted, my fault, anyway went out next morning forgot and scratched the screen on my 4, after only 2 hours just forgot and put the keys in my same pocket, not a deep scratch or anything but enough to piss you off and noticeable but the screen look and feels better without it, don't think it worth possible scratching it with a bit of bad key pocket action. I'm normally very careful.
