Is the 027 sim newish? It needs to be version 3 from memory.

Last idea.

1. Sync the iPhone so that everything is up to date.

2. Remove from iTunes, shut iTunes down.

3. Under General - Reset - Erase All Content And Settings. This takes the phone back to how it was out of the box. Like you do when selling it.

4. Have 027 sim installed, setup iPhone by connecting to iTunes, as a restore from backup. Its now ready to use, with all of your apps, etc.

Hopefully a restore from backup, to a blank iPhone will help. The beauty with iTunes is you can feel free to wipe the phone as the sync will restore all apps, contacts, etc, etc. Settings such as wifi password need to be re-entered, but thats about the only main setting, the others are just at defaults.

how to know is the sim is version 3?
just had it last month so should be quite the latest one.
yeah i've done that steps too.. just not work

i noticed that if i put on the 021 sims n turn on the iMessage. it will pop out a message - Your carrier may charge for SMS messaged used to activate iMessage. But not when i put on the 027 sims.. nothing pop out no warning message or anything.

Might be time to call Apple NZ Support at 00800-7666-7666 (dont know why they quote 2 zeros before the 8)

Keep it simple, that you had a new iPhone iOS5 with a Voda sim and replaced with XT sim and now iMessages says it is verifying 021. When I was googling for you, this has happened before so they should have a fix, or a start over fix, or perhaps they can reset the Apple ID link to the iPhone/sim

It's an international freephone number (not a regular 0800 number).

My only ideas are that your Telecom SIM is not giving the iPhone it's new phone number. If I swap my VF to my Telecom SIM it activates correctly as it should.
