Watched a video testing the ip68 rating of the XS and Note 9, they dropped both down in 40ft of water and the XS held up where as the Note started spazzing out, not surprised at that depth but the XS did extremely well.

Same video had a drop test and well I’m not sure of the point of those as glass is still glass and regardless glass isn’t indestructible, it’s going to break sooner or later.

Seriously unimpressed with the camera .... specifically the smart HDR feature
Which is enabled ...when examining the HDR version and non HDR version
There is no difference in the photos....
Just installed 12.1 beta and now the normal photo is not kept despite the settings set to keep it.

It uses your iPhone, which knows what country you're in and will dial the countries emergency number

Looks like Apple takes care of the emergency services number.

You might want to go into the Health app on your iPhone and set up your emergency contact there.

On my old watch I was sure I had an app for getting updates from Facebook to my watch. I looked into it and the app was called Little book . Apparently its no longer available on the itunes store. Is there another way to get updates or notifications from facebook to the watch?

I assume you use the Facebook app on your iPhone? If you go to the Watch app on your iPhone, you can set notifications there.

See here how to do it: How to enable notifications on your Apple Watch

If you don't see it in the setup in the Watch app, check the General settings -> Notifications on the phone and make sure you have that enabled.

Personally I am happy to not get any notifications from Facebook, so I am leaving it off.

Hey folks - question :-

Toying with the idea of getting an Iphone XS Max.

Whilst I've had a look in-store and I quite liked it from a build and size/shape perspective - the thing that stopped me buying there and then was the notch.

I'm coming from a 6S - and one of my primary use cases is video - Netflix etc.

To those of you living with one already (or those with an X) - how do you find the scaling with the Notch? To me it seemed that all the benefits of the screen size and minimal bezel get thown away as it scales the video down... or you watch full size and deal with a nasty bite out of the left hand side :/.

Is it something you get used to? Aren't bothered by? Drives you nuts?

My current thoughts are (although I'm hoping someone can explain it to me) - dropping that much on a phone for the screen quality/size and then having that bloody notch in the way might drive me nuts dealing with it day-to-day.
