Was in a Telecom store earlier today and they said they still can't sell the 5S outright yet but they will give me a call once that changes

I ended up deciding to get a 5s (vs the cheaper 5), my telecom store sold one outright no worries.

I guess it is up to each store to decide until they receive instructions otherwise.

The best new feature is the fingerprint reader . I don't notice the extra performance so much -- the GUI still stutters a little , like when dragging down the search input box -- there is a micropause as it descends sometimes.

Actually, the fingerprint reader is a huge benefit to me, as i don't need to type in numbers to unlock the phone while driving now ....just kidding of course.   I leave all the bad driving up to my 5 year old.

Damn. My debit card was $2 under the cost of the phone and declined. The e-mail I got said they would periodically try charging my card again - anyone how often "periodically" is for Apple? Hoping it doesn't mean that I will have to wait longer...

Just got my 5S delivered this morning. I'm at work so can't set it up yet. Only took 10 days (oredered 25th Oct.) to arrive. Happy man.

Mine arrived this morning too :)  An hour of panic ensued though as the courier took it upon himself to deliver it to a different office instead of the address I'd specified, but I tracked it down eventually.  Thank god for iCloud backups, currently setting up at work as we speak.  I am SO looking forward to the performance improvement over my 4.  Happy days!

I also upgraded from a 4, I can't believe how fast the 5S is and how much time I used to waste waiting for my 4 to load things.

Mine apparently got to Auckland yesterday and it on its way to Wellington as we speak, so I'm expecting to receive it today or tomorrow. I will post first impressions once I'm all set up.

I'd better get down to 2degrees today and get a nano SIM to transfer my connection over to. I'll also need to find a sports armband as I'm doubting that the 5S will fit the one I'm using with my 4S due to the extra 8mm of height.

Mine arriving today .... Until last week the delivery date was 19-20th November, however on Thursday I was surprised to see the status changed to "Processing" with delivery date as 4th November. The tracker on TNT website says out for delivery :)

I suspect the fact you've ordered gold might mean that you'll receive yours later than those who've ordered the other two colours. :(

Apparently these are in short supply.

matt188:
aquatarkus: My online order with Apple was accepted on Oct 25 with a likely shipment date of Nov 19/20. That's how it stayed until about an hour ago; I got an emailed invoice and tracking number and the courier anticipates delivery on Monday Nov 4.
Cool.

Me too. My gold 32GB was due to ship 14-18 November and just got an email saying it's due to arrive 5th November. Stoked :)

arrrr I had a slight glimmer of hope when I saw matt88 had gotten a notification about his 32gb gold. Still....I've been offered a iphone5 work phone, maybe I should opt for that in the mean time....haha

Had a friend who ordered their 32GB iPhone 5S Gold on launch day via. Apple Online Store receive a txt saying their phone had shipped on Saturday, and it arrived at the office by courier this afternoon. Initial estimated delivery was 19/11-20/11 like many, but as we know Apple tends to err on the side of caution.

Txt notification was for delivery on the 7th, so for it to arrive today is pretty impressive. Hope for those that are in a similar situation :)
