JoeTurksta: If you're on VDSL then I'd recommend that you change ISP's to any of the ISP's within the Call Plus group (Orcon, Slingshot, Call Plus) which have "Global Mode" so you're not needing a VPN Service.
Predated: Are you in Central Otago?
There was a reported issue with apple tv and vodafone dsl back around the time of the great proxy incident.
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?topicid=146618&page_no=51, Vodafone reps were looking for examples,

Lipex666: Hi have has same issue, the fix for me is stream from the UK, I'm puzzled what's happening here as well. I think it's a combo of things as there is a lot of network / providers and links used. This all started round Christmas time as well.
Try a different. Region.
Can't complain as its a Service that we are bypassing the rules.
PS ATV 2, Spark VDSL + router and Unblockus set to Uk. Ps previous poster comment change Netflix region is good advice different content.
I also think the AV2 does have some issues but till we get word on a new ATV will just stick with it.

bluedisk:Mattmannz: Why don't you give unotelly a try? Only cost you a few bucks for a month.
Yes I think I will try this next, thanks Matt

There is the 8 day trial
Maybe try the apple TV at someone else's house and hopefully a different ISP.
bluedisk: Ok, so I have been very patient with my Apple TV over the last nine months. Its connected to the Vodafone VDSL modem by ethernet cable, then HDMI cable straight into the Samsung Series 5 48" LED TV. I use Unblock US.
It usually takes a minimum of three tries or a reset (not restart) to get a Netflix programme streaming, normally all I get is an onscreen message saying "An error occurred loading this content, please try again later". The programme will stream for about 10 minutes before I get a black screen and the same error message. On restarting the programme it will run for another 10 minutes before crashing again, and so on...
However when I plug in my Sony Vaio laptop and stream from there via HDMI it works first time every time.
I'm curious as to why I can stream from one but not the other (the one designed as a video streaming device).
BTW, I'm a self-taught user of technology, (not an IT guy) but someone who deals with filming, editing and uploading HD video content to clients around the world.
Mattmannz: I have had a look at Bluedisks setup and there are no issues with his router, cabling, DNS configuration etc. Multiple routers have been tried along with wired and wireless. Everything is setup correctly and running the latest versions of software/firmware
My own personal experience is that combinations of Apple TV, DNS provider and Vodafone DSL can be a problem.
Matt.
