Ahhh just got the balls to upgrade form 1.1.1 OTB previously unlocked with AnySim now running FW 1.1.3 using this awesome guide http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=30238
The guide worked as advertised and Im v happy. took 10 mins all up. now running 1.1.3, BL 3.9
As you're on 1.1.1 you'll also get the Voicemail Notification fix that came in 1.1.2 - plus the other extras of 1.1.2.
The pin-lock issue is in regards to the AT commands required to be sent to the comm centre. A locked simcard prevents the commands from getting through. If you are unlocked with AnySIM then you don't need to worry about it. It's only for those unlocked with IPSF or IPSF-like Geohotz unlock. Those people were having to run an app called Signal.app to get signal after every reboot of their phone (you can read my post here about what I did with my IPSF unlocked phone: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=76&TopicId=19401#110795).
