Sparky221: Has anyone else had problems with Google Maps after updating to 2.0.2?
I haven't been able to use it at all since updating, crashes on opening.

No problems here so far

Incorrect speling should be punnished!!!

actually backing it up resetting it and restoring it from backup is likely not to work.
the backup will restore your data on the phone and if it is crashing alot then it will restore what is making it crash sorry to say... not to sure how you go about just doing a non restore just a fresh vanilla totally clean install?

After you do a restore it will ask you if you would like to set it up as a new phone or from a backup. Make sure you select to set it up as new and you will be fine. If you really wanted to you could go and delete your backed up data, then it will have nothing to restore from, esentially forcing it to set it uo as new.

So out of curiousity where and what are the backup files stored and named and i always download the latest firmware and then install later so where are the firmware updates stored as I like to keep them all backed up

To delete the back up files, in iTunes, go to preferences:

Mac users - From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences
Windows users - On the Edit menu, click Preferences

Then choose "Syncing"

You will then see all your backups which you can delete from there.

As for the location of the Firmware files, these are stored:

Mac users - ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
Windows users - Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

Ok, perform a reset and restore from backup anyway. I do know that doing this won't restore absolutely everything. It may not some cached data stored in the map app that might be causing the problem. So, i'd try to restore from backup first.

Couldn't hurt.

i had problems for a while with some crashing not syncing email accounts and i jailbroke th phone added bossprefs and in there there is a way to fix permissions like in OS X and it fixed aot of problems especially the lack of email account sync in iTunes the phone wasnt rally crashing much

Hi all,

I want to upgrade my iphone (1st gen) from 1.1.4 to 2.0.2.

I went on iclarified.com, and downloaded all the necessary files that the tutorial recommends.

However, when it says to build the firmware in pwnagetool, it does not ask me to locate the bootloaders.
I understand that it won't ask you if you have done this process before, but I havent. this is the first time I am trying it.

Is this normal? I did a search on google about this issue but could not find any satisfactory information.
