The tap controls on AirPods never seemed to work for me or anyone else i knew with them.

I think the big flaw with all  airpod is no volume control, and you have to ask siri to increase or decrease volume, and isn't possible if you are somewhere that you must remain quiet. IMO that is essential. Some sort of capactive touch slide control IMO would make sense. The new squeeze control also doesn't look like a great solution from the reviews, especially as they have decreased the length of the storks.  Kind of reminds me of that failed ipod shuffle that didn't have any buttons on it, and only had buttons on it, and I think it only lasted one generation before it they put the buttons back on.

Picked mine up in Sydney yesterday and used them for the flight back home. The noise cancellation was outstanding. The sounds of the engine was completely gone.

This is a manufacturing fault that comes up from time to time. Call Apple and get them replaced. Seriously, it's like one in ten pairs is affected but no one cares enough to do anything about it. I recently picked up an extra pair at Costco for the missus while in the US and they don't detect when they've been removed from your ears or any type of tap based controls. Apple replaced them with a brand new set no questions asked.

Works well to me. I use volume controls on the phone in my pocket.

Brought a pair a couple days ago, they’re incredible, haven’t used by Bose NC700’s since.

Having some issues with mine lately, but it could well be the ios upgrades. The built in music app keeps stopping on me. Rebooting iphone does fix it, but it keeps recurring.

I had my first wee hiccup today - long press wouldn't activate either pass-through or ANC...took them off, put them in the case, put them back on - everything worked.

Still loving them...they're everything I wanted AirPods to be.

Sooooo... does anyone know a retailer with AirPod Pro's in-stock?

It looks like it's a 3 week wait direct from Apple.

JB Hifi have stock that gets replenished sporadically...you could chance your arm there.

I saw then on the shelf the other day at JB on queen street.

Whether they still have stock I don’t know though.

Had an issue with my new AirPods Pros that required me taking them to an authorised repair agent for assessment. I ended up getting a full replacement. However the replacement unit only came with size L ear tips. However i found that the small size were the best fit for me. But my size Small were on my old pair that I had sent back. Spent an hour on support chat with two different Apple support agents trying to get this issue sorted. Do you think they could? No.

They said that Id have to send the whole AirPods Pro unit back to Apple to be swapped. This is despite the fact you can purchase replacement tips online for a few bucks.

Cant believe how poor their after sales support are these days. My last three interactions have been extremely poor. Back in the day the support was second to none. I remember one time when they forgot to gift wrap an ipad I purchased online as a gift they refunded me the cost of the gift wrap  and sent me a free Apple leather folio case. Guess Timmy's apple is all about penny pinching these days.

Strange - I have recently had a Watch replaced under AppleCare+ and it couldn't have been easier or quicker.

The person I spoke to was helpful and walked me through the whole process and then everything happened as per the plan...I was very impressed.

Ha i had issues with my Apple Watch 4 which was documented on another topic and that was nightmare too. That was under a standard warranty not Apple Care so obviously their priority is to help those who have paid for an extended warranty rather than those claiming under standard warranty.

Does anyone know any physical store that may have it in stock in Auckland?

I tried NoelL, HarveyN, Dicksmith and a few other smaller shops.

Appreciate the help in advance.
