Geekpulp: Beta 2 is far better (which makes sense) I can type without the phone getting totally killed.

What are we all thinking is the best feature in 3.0?

At pixelthis we are very excitied about the new payment models, being able to upsell with level packs for example is huge for us. It makes the 99c app a far more viable option.

I'm really looking forward to the new hardware too. I just hope we get some better deals in NZ, vodafones pricing is a joke.

Best feature? How do you answer that!

I agree Vodafone have to sort out their data with 3.0 especially. It's only a matter of time before the phone becomes a fully fledged GPS unit, but with data like that it will be hard. Vodafone are ruining the phone for customers as we can't use it to its full potential.

250mb was ok for other firmware’s, but now with push coming in and lots of data being used I will chew through my plan which sucks.

Well on the gps side they have said they will allow turn by turn gps, you'll just have to bring your own maps, so maps could be included in an app and not require data useage.

Yeah I have no problem paying a map maker for nz maps with turn by turn, but it better work well. Beause one thing that's annoying is that you can't try before you buy. I imagine proper GPS maps will be in the $300-$500 and would be a tad annoying if it didn't work as expected.

To be honest I'm not sure of the process (most likely apple don’t encourage it) but its certainly allowed for in the reports we get about sales/download of our apps.

This might be a good place to start looking:

That's interesting. Maybe all apps should have a 3 day free trial with an option to delete it. Then after 3 days the app is paid for and you have no comeback. If you then tried to re download it you would have to buy it straight away.

I'm not sure but its one of those things and a reason why I don't tend to buy the more expensive apps. Perhaps with 3.0 there will be a heap of new apps that are free for 10 days and then you have to unlock it after the time period. That would work I guess. As long as subscriptions are avoided! I hate subscriptions!

Sadly even with 3.0 there is no upselling from a free app to a paid app. I would however expect there to be loads more 99c apps.

True duh! I watched the presentation last night... Still annoying you can't try first. I guess its up to the seller to have somewhere you can try it , on a website or something.

It seems there's about 128mb of ram, but the os uses around 42-64ish and the graphics chip seems to have its own memory to.

Beta 5 is looking good.

Could still do with speeding up.
