i know this is not the best place to put this.... but did not know where to post and knowing most of viewers here are using iphone on XT so why not share :P

i have noticed that on XT when i had voicemail left on my phone... i now get red dot next to voicemail box and plus on the main front screen it shows up as 2+ on the call icon...
this however does not mean its a visual voice mail does it??

this never happened before when i was on voda.. its so cool!! any thoughts or comments people?

I have just tried this great feature I have never seen this before on vodafone either
It is just for normal voice mail wonder how that happened could it be something to do with the carrier settings?

When I was roaming overseas I got a voice mail message and I too got this type of message notification and it would NOT go away even after listening to my voice mail messages when I got back to NZ.I cannot remember how I got rid of the messge noticafion in NZ as I think even resetting the phone it still came back.

I think its a different system maybe that vodafone doesn't use for message notification to their phones but other countries do?

Anyone from Telecom/Vodafone want to Comment?

The little red dot is the voicemail notification icon. It's the same as the little envelope you see on other phones when a voicemail is left.

I think its different. I think Telecom (and other Carriers) send an out of band message to your Phone to alert the phone that there is a new voicemail.

I knows its not the same but think of it like your normal POTS phone with a out of band message which makes your red light on some of phones light up.

On Vodafone you get a missed called message and then a new text saying that someone left you a voice mail message.

@LennonNZ the voicemail icon on the iPhone is exactly the same as the icon for all other WCDMA/GSM phones. Same format, same delivery process. In fact Voicemail platform has not concept of handset type.

I have added support for OS 3.0 when it is released. This will enable you to allow tethering and mms. If you have OS 3.0 now you can use them straight away.

Thanks to s.joseph for helping me test the files.

If your iPhone is jail-broken, unzip the carrier bundle twice until you have a folder called 'Telecom_nz.bundle'. Scp this folder into /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/

The new XT icon doesn't show up on mine :(

I don't suppose jail-breaking has anything to do with this?

I've noticed the type-masks you are using for V3 are a little off. you can use negative values but its not 100% correct

you can specify different ones for MMS, Internet and Tethering for Example

type-mask 1 = Internet
type-mask 4 = MMS
type-mask 8 = Tethering.

See: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f201/71009.htm

there is a list of valid type-masks there.

Also you can set the MMS Stuff as well in the file
so you might want to update if with those values as well

Hm, I get an Itunes error (0xE8000051) when I try to update the ipcc. Doing it the manual way (copying the bundle file to systems/library) does not seem to do anything.

It is a jailbroken Iphone btw

update: the old logo version does work.
