I can't imagine the iCloud being too popular here in New Zealand, mainly because of our low data caps. Uploading video you just took, or apps you just bought and pushing them to all devices in your house is a pretty fast way to burn through your internet limit, no?

I may be lucky but most places I go, including work, I'm on WiFi. But from what I gathered from the WWDC keynote, app purchases don't get pushed to your other devices automatically. They get tagged as 'purchased' on iTunes and you have the option of downloading them (for free) to your other devices if you so desire. Zero point in my PC getting a copy of TomTom Navigation for example.
I'm quite a heavy DropBox user, I find it invaluable. I'm interested to see how open iCloud is to other file types outside of the Apple ecosystem, ie M'soft Office Docs, mp3 files etc etc. I have a funny feeling DropBox will still have a decent market to operate in after iOS5 launches...

I've already got this going on my and my wife's iPhones, running iOS 4.3.3. Automatic downloads of Apps and Books appears as an option in settings->store (but not music - presumably there are no agreements yet with New Zealand record companies). Apps I download on my iPhone get pushed to hers automatically and vice-versa. In the settings screen there is a cellular on/off setting, which toggles whether or not push will occur over cellular. Default seems to be wifi only, which makes sense.
It does make sense, but I think Apple also need to consider that in NZ, datacaps are very low. I love how my ipod now has apps on them as soon as I download them on my computer, but this does download everything twice. I will disable automatic downloads if it becomes too much.
dacraka: Looks like the 3GS won't have any of the photo editing features such as crop or red-eye reduction etc... I wonder why Apple isn't implementing these features? The hardware is certainly fast enough.
I guess they just want people to upgrade to the latest model?
At least it has all of the other features that iOS5 has I guess!
They totally dropped support for the ipod touch 2nd gen , which was only released about 6 months before the 3gs, and is fast enough to run the latest version on ios4. Mine is only 2 years old, purchased new. Therefore I think they only give a portable device a 2 year usage life. Quite disappointing.
I don't have any intention to use the Cloud, in any form. There have been too many security issues to trust placing my files online, and the personal data that goes along with this. External hard drives for me
