Success! My wife finally got her replacement iPod yesterday.  Shiney new 8Gb 6th gen nano, just the iPod, no accesssories.  She is stoked!

Best part of the story is that the one she returned was one she had sent swimming in the ocean for 15 minutes about 8 months after she bought it.  I tried to get it working again with no success.  Has been in a box of electronic junk for the last 5 years.... see Honey, that's why I don't throw s%*t out Wink.

My virgin nano was in the recall group, so took it in to Service Plus on Monday arvo (9/1). Just been in this arvo (11/1) to pick up replacement 6th gen nano. Is a 48 hour turnaround a record?!

I just cancelled my service request (opened 30/11/11) and took the nano to Istore (ex Wired Dog) who said I should have my replacement in " a few working days".

Much more straightforward Smile   - Things I had to do were call Apple 00800 7666 7666 and cancel the request first .  Apparently if you don't do that it the duplication causes delays.  Also I had to call after noon NZ time as the call centre handling the call early in the morning couldn't make the change so had to wait for the Asia pacific call centre to come online.   I have to say I was impressed with their call centre [I hate Apple's support site so it was refreshing to find the humans very good to deal with and very effective]

Well here in the UK they received my iPod on 21 December (Christmas post must have delayed it, or else swamped and not updating receipts quickly) today received e-mail to confirm a replacement en-route to me. Will wait and see what model I get, would have preferred a credit towards a iTouch though!

Hi,

Does anybody know if there is a Wellington store to take my Nano in to for replacement rather than sending it in the box? Or point me in the direction of finding one?

I know my iPod is part of the recall as I got my box to send it back just before Christmas, as it was just before Christmas I haven't sent it yet.

Thanks.

My best suggestion is call the apple helpline and tell them you were on vacation so you could not send it through .I sent my ipod on the 28th of dec still waiting for my status to be updated. Cancelling it now may cause duplication which will further delay the process .So best suggestion is to call the helpline

I'm wondering if mine has been misplaced too. The courier collected the old one over a month ago. Still waiting for the replacement.

My old Nano was picked up by the courier on 23 December and I got an email last week saying that it was received at the Apple Repair Centre on 11 February and replacement was pending.
