Apple to announce more new stuff this year as widely expected - new iPad Pros, maybe new MacBook Air etc
https://www.engadget.com/2018/10/18/apple-special-event-october-30/
I’m looking forward to replacing my 4yo iPad Air 2 which has been truly great but is now showing its age.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
We have just swapped over , Myself and my wife had android phones, She got a iPhone 6s+ and I got the XS Max and 4 series watch , we also got a new iPad each (we used to have an ipad 2).
Thats going to be out lot for at least the next 3 or 4 years, I am happy with what I now have and not interested in new innovations more just making what we already have stable as possible.
Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding : Ice cream man , Ice cream man

I just watched a comparison between the One Plus 6T and the iPhone XS.
Given the price difference, Apple should be ashamed of themselves!
Long time ago, it was apple that got consumers into this $1300, and now $2k. Well consumers are kicking back. A 2nd drop in XR production.

People are trusting asian market phones and android one I feel may have an impact on this, people are just getting smarter and having the latest and greatest isnt the fashion statement it once was.
I dumped Macbook Pro when after 10 years the design barely changed and they couldnt put anything pro in the 13, and still cant, its intel putting 8th gen in notebooks.
Mean while MS deliver amazing surface design products that are both great UX design and Industrial design (they dont break), apple only being known for UX/Aesthetics. Apple use to be known for photoshop etc but thats a long way in the past. Finalcut is about all thats left hanging on but plenty opt for premierre.
The one product I would buy on one condition is the iPad Pro, thats awesome. But they need to do what MS did and produce an OS to run on 3 devices, no more of this syncing rubbish. The Ipad Pro cant run desktop level apps on iOS and nobody is going to come to their rescue when MS is producing better design devices.
Not only this, MS scrapped (Lumia) windows phone deliberately (which hurt as it was by far the most pro OS that used the least hardware) which was to have 1 OS for 3 devices, in favour of designing 1 device. Dont get me notebooks and higher powered machines will stick around. But they saw ages ago how people are using phones over notebooks and tablets as the go to, hence Andromeda which replaces all 3 devices in 1, which I cant wait for a launch.
Back to apple, I feel the phones were holding the company together, they better do something fast. I cant see them selling out $2k phones yearly when a $500 asian market android can do the same and more. I think in 5 years phones will be capping out at $1k and it will be apple.
Not an apple hater at all, I just buy what makes sense and I agree re iOS.
I realise building OSX for phone and pad would be VERY hard, but the user experience would be off the chart better and maybe what the company needs to stick around. Especially the Ipad Pro, it needs a desktop OS to justify its use as a design machine
Whats funny is the TV shows now have that MS Studio symbol on the back more and more replacing the fruit logo. And Studios arent even for main stream, perhaps the surface pro.

Ahh yes, the yearly "iPhone production slashed – Apple is doomed!" articles have begun.
I'll feign surprise when their next quarterly results show an even larger increase in revenue.
FYI, these same articles were thrown about with the iPhone X (which went on to be the #1 selling phone worldwide in Q1 2018).

That the negative news is being reflected in Apple's share price suggests, perhaps, some substance this time around to the rumoured production cuts.
