I usually go for the 12 month $65 plan for 12 months and then downgrade to the cheaper plans after the contract expires.

thinkingtrex8848: Do you guys upgrade fairly regularly on these plans?
I'm on a 2 year cycle for iPhone upgrades - my wife will get next years upgrade.
I'm trying to justify the increase in monthly cost as really would love to get my hands on one of these!
Well - I wouldn't recommend going for a plan you don't need to just get a phone. There are other methods of getting the phone. If you will use the plan then go for it.
Do these automatically include the insurance for the phone?
No.

A $700 discount over 2 years is $29/month, making the $65 plan essentially $36/month - if you’re currently paying less than $36/month, and are totally happy with the amount of data/mins you get, then there’s zero reason to sign up.
Insurance is considerably more to add on, but if you have contents with a low excess then you’re best just to claim through that.

But that doesn't have the discount right?

no, you need to do 24 months

I go on the $65 plan for 12 months, get the discount. Then after 12 months, when I'm able to - I downgrade to the $40 plan which is more aligned to my usage.

Is it 12 or 24? I can't quite remember, they are always changing it nowadays too.

Well, I'm sure I can use up the data if I try, I'm currently on Kogan Large plan (15GB) which occassionally runs out (lately it ran twice in 4 months).
You mentioned there are other methods of getting the phone - what are they if you don't mind me asking? I mean with the comparable discounts and all.
Thanks!
It’s 24 months, for Spark, as soon as you select the 12 month option, the discount disappears.

Yeah, this means the carrier subsidy has decreased, it was 12 months when I signed on with 2degrees 2 years ago.

they haven’t decreased, increased if anything - I got $500 off my 15P, whilst it was over 12 months, you had to be on the $90 plan to get it (which I was anyway). Again, if your monthly spend is minimal, then there’s no point signing up to a much higher post-pay plan to get a discount.

Weird, I was on $65 for 12 months on 2degrees.

Looks like One is giving an extra discount regardless of what network you’re on. You can use it to offset the purchase price and is lucrative.
if you’re coming from another network it’s at:
I think the standard One wallet offer for existing One customers is $750 off.
Have I got this right for a 24 month contract?
Can't see any $700 discount options?
