Timdotz: The new XT icon doesn't show up on mine :(
I don't suppose jail-breaking has anything to do with this?

If you are manually installing then you need to unzip the carrier bundle twice until you have a folder called 'Telecom_nz.bundle' and sftp this folder into /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/ AND you also need to create a new folder in the same location called 53005. Copy the files from within the .bundle folder you just upload into the 53005 folder. Then restart your iPhone.

You should end up with:

/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/Telecom_nz.bundle
/System/Library/Carrier Bundles/53005/*files from WITHIN the carrier bundle*

Hope this makes sense.

The bugs should be fixed now just need to sort out MMS settings to be correct.

MMS Sorted, I will upload the files later this evening.

You need to make sure you have WAP enabled from Telecom for the service to work

Hi.. WAP is enabled for all SIMs on Telecom by default. Just need to use it where required. eg. MMS.

Yes but if it got accidentaly removed when changing from CDMA to XT then you will need to have it re-added as I did this morning.

just querying, I am moving back to NZ later this month, is this carrier setting a must to use my iPhone 3G from Australia on the XT Network.

Currently on Telstra NextG, and it is unlocked.

No. This is not required. The only thing you need to change is the APN settings. This is only to show the XT icon and a couple of other things.

FILES UPDATED - Please download and install the latest update as it contains fixes for roaming (although as per first post still not guaranteed to work)

Also MMS now working.
