My 3GS 4.1 was set to Wellington timezone. Changed to Auckland, set a repeating alarm for 8:44am this morning. Alarm didn't go off. Set it for 9:45am. Alarm went off at 8:45am.

Turned Time Zone Support off, tried setting a repeating alarm for 8:47am. Didn't go off.
Set one for 9:48am, went off at 8:48am.

Aaroona:

I know there was a calendar glitch in 4.0, but they fixed that in 4.1

Was this fix for the birthday issue? Cause if it was it does not seem to have worked. Friend is still seeing the problem.

I don't think it's a VF issue; I'm on a VF account and my iP4 (4.1) updated the time correctly and automatically, and my repeating alarms work fine.

lucky :)

unfortunately that's definitely not the case for myself ... if I setup new alarms the problem continues ... e.g. just deleted all alarms, set a new recurring one for 23:58 ... it goes off at 22:58 ...

Has anyone tried a restore in iTunes to see if that fixes it?

yeah just tested that one and that seems to work fine ... so it seems that anything that's looking at the actual time is fine, clearly the built-in alarm is looking at things at a slightly lower level in the OS and this is where it gets messed up ... or something like that.

i don't trust myself to remember to leave the alarm apps open before i go to bed though, so will stick with the built in one set an hour late  Wink

if you are on ios4 and above the handysoft one will go still off sjust as long as the alarm is set and turned on even if it isn't active on the screen, it runs in the background fine...
do a test and try it..

My every day repeating alarm went off today at the correct time, a first since daylight savings. I had turned it off yesterday before it went off and turned it back on last night, which is the only thing different. I don't recall any updates being done.

Is there anyone else with their alarm working properly now?

Confirmed. I just created a test alarm and it went off at the correct time.

Also confirmed that it's back to normal ...

weird, not sure why it would change now, as I think "old" daylight savings would've started last weekend, and USA / Europe don't change out of daylight savings for a few more weeks ...

but thank goodness for finding out today ... although an hours sleep-in tomorrow might have been nice too! :-)

It just shows that the iOS tables are not up-to-date with our current DST law. This also happens with old Windows Mobile handsets where the latest DST patches are no applied.
