gzt: The new cable/connector sounds like the most innovative feature. Paul, feel free to use that quote : ) lol.

What is the connector exactly and impact on docking anyone?

Something magsafe would be really nice but it doesn't sound anything like that.

Its smaller, goes in either way, and has more capability apparently, not sure what though. If the adapter is cheap, and has the same rear profile, that makes it suitable for existing dock accessories. Saves room and weight as does the nanoSIM

Most Apple genuine adaptors are $49 each, I remember the iPad camera connection kit was $49 and the display adaptors are all $49. Sucks for a school with 30 projectors buying one adaptor for each classroom. Almost $1500 later.

I like the iPhone 5, would like to see one in person before making full judgement but the "brushed" look on the back looks good next to the glossy strip at the top and bottom.

I am hoping they will have the same price point as the 4S pre announcement. Will be a shame if they up the price.

So by the look of the adapter, the iphone5 will sit about 20mm higher in any vertical dock. Only really useful for cable adaption IMHO.

Edit: In fact it's a shame they didn't include a charging pad option.

I dont think the price is gonna go any higher.. Its their normal trend that the previous models go on a lower price and the new one comes at the fixed price that it always has been...

So existing apps will play in a letterbox on the 5 until updated. But what then happens to everyone's iphone4(S) (and ipod touch 4 for that matter). Will they not receive updates to their legacy apps? Or will they play in a 'centre cut' mode? Or are developers going to have to add additional resolutions and aspect ratios to their coding?

I'm not an iOS developer but I believe that many apps should be able to scale once the developers add an "iPhone 5 compatible" flag to the app. Take a look at existing apps; many will happily increase the size of the main text area when you pair a Bluetooth keyboard. The taller screen probably uses the same sort of concept.

Im not sure they will scale, as the aspect ratio changed, plus they mentioned letterbox. But iPad apps were rolled out quite well in an iPad version, and iPhone apps I am sure will soon be available in a 5 version. The Keynote stated that a dev said it was quite easy, unsure if that is factual or marketing-speak though

sahyun1: Disappointed with iphone5, especially lack of NFC chip.

Where and how often can you use NFC now?

Imagine if they thought like that when the first car was produced....

Bit of a let down. Getting the upgrade itch but I don't really see any advantage of upgrading over my 4. Maybe will have to look closer at the Galaxy or one of the HTC offerings.
