keepitwarm: Geez, that took me longer to find a way to shrink the image under 200k to upload it, ( 200k? are we in the 80's :)

Anyway shall we play spot the difference,

Thanks. There's definitely a difference. Although the one on the left looks way too blue to me.

tdgeek: I notice a higher battery use. I'm not a high user.It was at 90% this morning, and a few texts and a sync (that imported 1000 artworks) it drained 5%. Given that when I setup wifi sync on my 4, I accidentally synced 1000 photos, that used 2% of battery over wifi.

But, being realistic, the snappy 4 is overshadowed in speed by the 4S, no matter what you do. And Apple states that to maximise the battery, you need to charge to 100% on first charge, and let it fully drain over the next few cycles. So, hopefully all will be well, but very pleased.

Battery life seems to have improved dramatically for me after a couple of full charges and discharges - now close to the same level as the iPhone 4 for standby use. It's still higher when the phone is actually in use - although I suppose that's not surprising given the faster processor.

I also turned off the automatic time-zone setting location service, which seems to be constantly accessing GPS. Not sure if that has also contributed.

True, it took about 4 attempts just to show the difference, but when you are holding both of them side by side, its very clear.

Its annoying, but i can live and wait for another day. its just a phone after all.

It's not really possible to know which one is right or wrong without being sure that the white balance setting on the camera was exactly right.

Exactly. Saying a screen is too yellow, or too blue without having a calibrated reference means nothing. All we can really discern is that the colour balance on the 4S is warmer than the one on the 4. We do not look at our phone screens in dark rooms where we can rely on getting consistent colour all the time, we look at them under natural daylight and artificial lights of varying colour temperatures so it will look different all the time.

When I've heard people say the screen is yellow I have expected it to actually be yellow. But it would seem in reality it's colour balance is warmer. And whether that feels correct will most likely come down to personal preference.

Checking between both my iPhone 4 and 4S I agree, the 4 is cooler than the 4S. Can't say it's ever bothered me though because I look at the screen at different brightness levels and under different lighting conditions and wouldn't expect it to be colour perfect.

If my screen was really yellow, I would agree there is a problem, but from that picture I'd say it's a colour balance difference that is just warmer than the iPhone 4.

Mines yellow yellow, i get your point though about warmer thing,  my photo was in the dark to show it, if you had it in your hand you would see that the white is not white, and the black is not black regardless of lighting conditions, you would think it was off. I wish it was just slight, and warmer, i could live with that.

i ordered it online ( preorder thing) so i called them explained, and they have a replacement on its way. Telecom/Vodafone don't make them, so can't be annoyed at them.

so ill see what thats like when it comes, its the first time I've got a white one, i was dubious for that reason there was originally issues noted, however,i don't think they would released the white ones if they were not right,  they make heaps of these things, and I'm sure the odd one gets through that isn't quite right.

ill talk to my mate tomorrow whose just got one as well, and look at his screen, see if he's noticed any difference from his iPhone4. Be ok if i was colour blind.

Dont get me wrong, I wasn't saying yours wasn't, but just saying from the picture that it's difficult to see without a calibrated reference.

I have no doubt there are some iPhones out there that will have screen problems, with the amount made there just has to be, I had a problem with my first 4S that the microphone didn't work so I'm not disputing that there can be problems with the screen, or that there is a problem with your iPhone.

The difficulty is people have a tendency to say 'me too'. The whole antennagate last year bring a prime example, it really wasn't as wide spread a problem as it was made out to be. I'm not saying that the iPhone didn't drop a bit of signal strength ever, and that it wouldn't have dropped calls for some people, but it was blown up out of all proportion. People actually looked for it and purposely forced this, then it was a problem.

I accept that your screen is yellow, and that is a problem that needs to be fixed, but that's also why I wanted to see one, the picture didn't really help though as the iPhone 4 looked blue in the picture and the 4S actually looked better to me. Looking at my iPhone 4 and 4S side by side I note that the 4S is warmer than the 4, but it isn't a massive difference. How many people are deciding that this difference is the 'yellow' problem when in reality only some people really have it? Is it because the 4S is naturally warmer than the 4?

It would be very interesting to compare quite a few iPhones side by side having known the owners opinions before hand.

I have a question re charging. I have an alarm clock dock next to the bed (Panasonic RC-DC1)
and normally before I hit the sack I throw my phone on it and then turn it off so it obviousy does not ring or make any noises and wakes me. This worked no problems for my 3gs but since I have jumped up to the 4s when I put it in the dock it starts charging fine, I then turn it off which it does but then turns its self back on again.
Trying the normal wall charger I can have it charging and turn it off and it stays off fine I wonder why when I put it in the dock it won't stay turned off.

You don't have wifi sync turned in do you? That'd turn it in when you charge and would immediately start syncing.

On a completely different subject...

I am really put out at the act that none of my iphone 4 precision fit bumpers or cases work in my 4S.

Left side buttons just don't quite line up. What a waste of money, they were!!!
