I was wondering if anyone knows if the USA unlocked iPhone 6 would work here in NZ on the LTE bands. As far as I know, yes cz all iPhones are made for all markets and are not really region dependent.

But worth a check

My thoughts;
Shame there's no new iPod Touch to match the new screen size.
The new rounding of the design is a little evocative of the original iPhone.
Can't quite understand why the 6 doesn't have the same hardware specs as the 6+. Does this mean the 6+ is the flagship and the 6 the replacement for the 5C?
Why do they even bother with 16GB phones these days?
A catch up rather than innovation.
Will these new phones fit in existing docks, or will they need to be replaced as per when the lightning connector was introduced. I'm hoping that won't be the case because docks should take an iPad mini.
Glad I didn't line up outside an Apple Store a week ago in preparation for this announcement.

I have to say there really is nothing much new added over the 5S.

I currently have a 5 and to be honest the thing I am looking forward to most is TouchID, which isn't even a new feature of the 6. If I had a 5S I'm not sure I'd bother with the 6. As far as screen size, I'm quite happy with 4" as it makes the phone fit in my pocket easier.

Even though the new lineup is pretty underwhelming, I always get every major release and skip the S models. This ensures I can run the latest iOS at a reasonable speed. So it will be the 4.7" for me, probably 128GB.

I'm am far more excited about the Apple Watch (why didn't they call it iWatch?). Disappointing that it is still so far away though.

iPhone 6 Plus 128GB for me.

Think the carriers would have some stock on the day of launch (26/09)? otherwise I may buy it in Australia with a 10% off at end of year.

So they've kept the iPhone 5C, 5S according to the Apple Store. Check out the pricing.

Over all I agree with the comments about the spec being somewhat underwhelming. That said, all I really want is a larger screen.

I am disappointed about Sapphire glass not being used, but if comments above are true that may not be a bad thing.

As the Apple feed kept cutting out for the Iphone release I only got bits and pieces and Cnet seemed to be treating it like a bit of a joke, but over all after the event, when I went to Apple's website to see the comparison there isn't a lot in it. Maybe half a dozen items different from the Iphone5S.

I was surprised to see the only difference between the 4.7 and 5.5 was the screen size, battery life and image stabilization.

Last comment, does everyone else think the protruding camera is begging to have a case on the phone? I think the first thing I'll get when mine arrives is a nice case.

I imagine Apple will have just the thing for that...at the usual premium price for a 'genuine' accessory.

They have the 16gb model for two reasons. One is that it keeps the sticker price low, even though most won't buy that model. The other reason is that it creates competition with the different models, where the next model up will be the sweetspot in terms of pricing and features, and the top model will look expensive. It is all about psychology and marketing, where you have three models, and the middle one is what they expect most people to buy.

myndlyz:

didn't they announce the apple watch as the one more thing? you might not like the products announced, but as an android guy, i think apple had a fantastic event.

The 'one more thing' has to be something amazing.

The iwatch blows.

But, it is a matter of opinion of course.  Sales will tell the true story.

I'm looking forward to seeing a side by side comparison with the 6+ and the Note 4.

Time for Apple to do a new advert then, this one seems to be using last generation hands.

I'm due for a brand new phone, it looks like it will be the 6 Plus 64 GB space grey :)
I've had a first gen iPhone, a 3GS, and now a second hand 4S. (Via my wife when she got a 5S). I have a white iPad 3rd gen and the 4S is white, I think I will go back to the black front. Very excited.

Cheers,
Joseph

Oh I think the Watch looks sweet. I don't think I will be in the market for one, perhaps a second gen. Very cool nonetheless.
