sethw: Yes it is - but it is a zip file. When that is unzipped it contains a folder 'Payload' and in that folder the lego cube type icon Telecom_nz.bundle. It is this final bundle file that cannot be selected in 8.1.1 on my Mac. I am certain about the version of iTunes. Also the non-logo version worked fine as your instructions via the files on the unlockit.co.nz website. Thanks so much for your help.

Ok so instead of unzipping the file just remove the .zip extension. Alternately just download the Mac version and it should work.

You need to have a file called Telecom_nz.ipcc which looks like a text file, not a zip file

Downloaded MAC file and all good...love your work!!! I had been searching for days how to get voicemail working.

You say it wont work in Itunes 8.2...if I have already updated the carrier settings and then later update Itunes to 8.2...will the Iphone still sync and work and keep the settings or stop working? Sorry bit of a novice

Yes it will. You just can't update Carrier Bundles in 8.2. So if later something changes you won't be able to update the Carrier Bundle. There isn't a lot of difference between 8.1.1 and 8.2 so i wouldn't bother just yet anyway. Apparently the carriers (read:AT&T) aren't ready for tethering just yet and they made a big hoohaa about it to Apple. That's what I heard anyway.

Excellent...just so I am clear...the latest updated file you linked for download has been created to support version 3.0 when its released for public? So assuming nothing changes at Apple and OS 3.0 is released soon...we shouldnt need to update the carrier bundle anyway as this one should work?

Correct, but as long as Apple make no changes. If they do the it will need to be updated.

hmm well had a look inside the carrier.plist and it has +6483083210 as the voicemail phone #.

that correct for when dialing within nz? as when i dial up it asks for my phone number including the 0 but once putting it in it says number isnt registered. but if i dial 083210 normally it works fine asks for my pin and logs into voicemail..

That's the international number to use while roaming IIRC.

Sorry nox I meant to reply.

That is the number I have stored in mine and it works fine. The reason you use that is if/when you go overseas if you want to check your voicemail you can. Having 083210 won't work overseas.

Not sure why it's not working for you.

Are you Gen 1 or 2 iPhone?

Are you jailbroken?

Do you have iTunes 8.1.1 or 8.2? i.e are you installing manually or automatically?

jailbroken 3g 2.2.1 itunes 8.1.1.10

did it via itunes eg hold shift hit update find file.
it has updated the icon fine etc. i did have a manually set voicemail earlyer on when i was with black+white.. wondering if that overode it? anyway to verify what number is set for voicemail?

also im using swirlymms2 and i can send mms fine.. but the same settings for some reason it just sits there when trying to download a mms. it connects to the proxy and sits on fetching from mmsc: http://lsmmsc.xtra.co.nz etc. well odd!

you using 3.0? prob look at that later on once they finalize it.

Ok last question...you have been excellent with your responses so far and I thank you and your team for this great update. Am I correct in assuming the roaming "issue" (which may not even be an issue) is just to do with data...this should have no affect on making/receiving calls and texts while overseas..this will still work like normal roaming? Only if I wish to use data that there may be a .001% chance there is an issue...is that correct?

I *think* so but I cannot and will not confirm this. Neither can Telecom as it is not a supported device.

hmmmm That's odd then.

I would do *5005*86*# to reset the number back to nothing and then try to update again.

Not sure about swirly as I have never used it. sorry.

yes on 3.0
