Indeed it will. I have no explanation as to why mine already shipped when my Apple estimate was also 26th-1st, except that maybe less people are ordering the white, and they had a few more available than they thought they might.

Bought my iPhone yesterday from Telecom and did the $29 plan thing.
Anyone know how to cancel it now? (I didn't ask...lol).

Another thing that I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned, is that Telecom offered me to have the cost of the phone spread over 12 months, with no interest charged. I didn't take the deal, but it is interesting for those who can't afford the $1000-plus cost of the phone upfront.

As for the phone, is my first day using it today, but I've already noticed that the signal strength is not as good as that of my 3G. I had around 4 bars on my 3G (in my area where Vodafone was practically useless), and with the new iphone 5 the strength is between 1 and 2 bars most of the time.

I was told just to pop into shop if I want to cancel plan next month. I have 3-4 bars signal most of the time. I'm loving the phone, very glad I bought it!

In regards to cancelling the $29 plan, I was told by a Telecom employee that the only way to cancel it was to ring them up, which seems a bit strange to me.

Probably becuase it gets handled centrally by their contracts department, this would probably be the quickest option as a store would just ring on your behalf.  There may also be less paperwork as the call center would verify you directly and then cancel.

Update on my Apple order - it says "NZC Auckland Agent - out for delivery" at 8.24am this morning. I'm assuming NZC is customs? So it might arrive today, given it's only 40 minutes from the airport to my place of work. Laughing Which would mean, for those waiting for an order from China, you're looking at about a 4-day wait from "shipped" to receipt. Will update during the day if it arrives.

Mine still being prepared for shipment, mine being shipped from Sydney.

Or NZ Couriers are their agent - it wouldn't be customs if it was out for delivery.  I thought they used TNT in NZ though?

Does Apple email you when it goes to preparing to ship? or only after it has shipped?

Did you ring Apple to find out yours is coming from Sydney? The Apple order status page doesn't reveal the origin. I haven't found out where my Apple orders come from until they ship, and TNT collects the item and their order status page reveals the pickup location.

If Apple is supplying some orders from Sydney that leaves some hope that I might get my iPhone by this Friday. If it is coming from China the chances of that now are very slim. (Mine is still "processing".)

Kyanar: I thought they used TNT in NZ though?

All my Apple online orders have been delivered by TNT, but if they have a large workload in an area they could subcontract other couriers. NZC is probably NZ Couriers. Perhaps a lot of iPhone 5s being delivered in Auckland today?

Only when it ships. There are normally two e-mails: one with the shipment notice, and one with the invoice. They sometimes e-mail you earlier when there is a significant change such as a revised estimated delivery window: I got two of them for lightning adapters which shipped earlier than expected. I didn't get any e-mails for "preparing for shipping".

Not on the open term plan, which is entirely the point.

When it ships then you'll see where the origination point is. Everything else I've ordered (adapters, cables) has shipped from Sydney but the phone itself from China.

I'm not sure if NZC is New Zealand Couriers because I have the same thing listed beside my lightning adapter that I received last week - and that appeared to have come via TNT. The timeframe between "out for delivery" and receipt on that one was 2 hours, so I'm hoping to see the phone this afternoon, given "out for delivery" was 8.24 this morning.

How it going for you?

Mine shipped from Sydney today, still saying not found on TNT website! How long did yours take the change?

Still waiting. Called TNT who said it was in the driver's van and would be delivered by 5pm. 6 minutes to go and our Mailroom shuts the doors for the night. Might have to wait until tomorrow, I think.

Edited to add: Can't remember when my order tracker was visible. I think it was the following day, but then it only showed as shipped right before I went to bed, so the info was there when I got up the next morning.
