Hi. I have recently switched my Iphone from Vodafone to Telecom and am having trouble with the voice mail settings. I downloaded your patch and updated in Itunes but nothing has changed. Can you assist.

We need more info to help.

iPhone 3G?

iPhone Firmware version ?

iTunes Version ?

Jailbroken, yes or no

I first of all recommend you try dialing *5005*86*# and pressing call. This will reset the voicemail button to nothing. Then try to install the file and see if that works.

Also does the file add the XT logo as show in the first post?

OK, did you try the voicemail reset?

Can you try it and then install the package and try it. Possibly try rebooting after installing it.

Apologise if this is a dumb question...total NOOB here. I have installed the IPCC and all going very well. If Apple now release a new Iphone OS update (3.0 or I dont know...randomly one prior to that) and I click "update" in Itunes...will this replace my carrier settings (as XT not an official Iphone carrier) or are the carrier settings now "hardwired" in?

Hope that made sense...basically just asking that once the XT carrier settings have been installed, is there anything stopping us from installing future official updates from Apple?

Hi camtab. Like you Im a newby as well so I too apologise if my seems lame. Where did you download the IPCC in order for Itunes to pick it up. I have already downloaded it and after opening Itunes as per the instructions it still wont work.

Fair question as I had the issue to start with. I am using a Mac and had to download it to the desktop so that Itunes would find it when I clicked "Option-Update" (or control-update). You need to be using Itunes 8.1 (not latest 8.2). Are you on Mac or PC?

Just preparing myself for the eventual OS 3 release..maybe your Carrier file already has the settings but incase not...do you know the bits that relate to the XT network to get MMS working (such as those below for Voda)

MMS Proxy: 172.030.038.003:8080

If you "Update" it should not make a difference to the XT Settings. If you have to restore then it will.

I am downloading OS 3.0 now and once I have updated I will confirm everything. I will be updating to OS 3.0 later this afternoon.

which version are you updating to?
im using the beta 5 not sure if its anything to do with it or not but
My phone is lasting 5 hours standby on a full battery
but the usage is saying 5 hours also when I have not been using it?
also the phone is heating up on the back? maybe because its draining the battery so fast?
