k14:
mrkgoo: Ugh, got my iphone5, but vodafone out of nano sim. Without sim, you can't activate phone.

Bah and humbug.

Just cut your micro sim. Nothing to loose if you can get a nano sim for free when they come in stock. Look on youtube for video.

Doesn't matter now. I have to return the phone. :( waiting game begins again.

My sis in law had same time frame as I did from apple, 29th oct - 3nd nov, and she got email last week to say its been shipped, she is expecting it tomorrow. I'm glad I bought mine from telecom in the end, as it will be almost two weeks later, coming from apple. She is in Auckland.

Not really, no.

Only way to find them is too look damned hard!

I checked for dead pixels when I booted the iPhone since it has a black background. No dead pixels.

No stuck pixels either.

Overall flawless condition. Looks like the new batches have improved.

Don't think mine is from a new batch, bought from telecom two weeks ago, and it's perfect!

Mine was fresh from china, two dead pixels. Playing waiting game to return now.

Sucks so bad, because I was so excited for it, ordered as soon as it was available and counted down the days.

A freind at work had a faulty 4s he spoke to Apple and they sent a replacement phone then he returned his, they did hold a deposit until his was sent back but he wasn't without a phone, maybe this might be worth asking about.

Unfortunate for you guys getting duds, I was paranoid about my phone.

For your info, my phone is a week 43 unit, and I'm going to speculate that the later the week the less likely there will be QC issues.

iPhone 5 now available outright and prepaid on Telecom NZ:

The iPhone 5 will be available to buy outright in selected Telecom stores and online at www.telecom.co.nz/iphone for a suggested retail price of $1029 for the 16GB model, $1199 for the 32GB model and $1349 for the 64GB model.

Customers who buy the iPhone outright can make the most of Telecom’s $19 prepaid pack – New Zealand’s best prepaid offer with 500MB of data, 60 anytime minutes and 5000 texts for only $19 per month. Telecom announced yesterday it’s extending the $19 pack through until March and offering free calls and texts between Telecom customers for those on the pack.
