NikT: Worth the wait for the announcement. I want the 64GB grey 6 plus.

I do however wish you could write on the 6+ with a stylus and have OCR turn it to text.

My wife thinks the Plus too big for calls. However since I make 80%+ of mine using a Plantronics Legend headset it won't bother me and I'd appreciate the extra size and resolution.

The 6 Plus just seems begging to be used in conjunction with the Watch. I think it will replace the need and usage of my iPad Mini Retina too.

Yes I think the Plus is what the iPad should have been.

None - both are well oversized compared to the screen size. Really quite amazed a company as design centred as Apple released these.

What makes you say that? The screen appears to extend pretty close to the physical edge in the images. A couple of millimetres of 'border' seems acceptable!

I think he means the top and bottom bezels, still pretty large. I had a play with a 5.7 Note, I felt that was ok, one handed a fair amount of time, but the top and bortom bezels are about half the iPhone.

To me they seem excessively large compared to other phones with similar sized screens.

Can't post links properly yet, but for Iphone 6

Moto X is a 4.7 inch phone. The G2, while wider, fits a 5.2 inch screen in the same height.

For 6 Plus,

G3 is a 5.5 inch screen, and much smaller. Even the Galaxy Note 4 (5.7 inch) is smaller.

Some of the above is due to Apples insistence on a huge home button - but basically when it became obvious that Apple were going to increase the size of the screen, I just assumed that the focus beyond just about anything else would be to fit the biggest screen in the smallest package. As a result, and adding consideration that I find Android much more flexible and pleasant to use than iOS, the Iphones 6 are, to me, totally uninspiring.

I would agree they could have extended the screen up - the top bezel is very big with no obvious reason (although I am wont to assume there may well be a less obvious one underneath!).

For me it is a toss up between 6+ and Note 4.

Since I have an all Apple universe with iMac, IMac Mini, iPad Air and 2 iPhones in my IT department it kind of makes sense to stick with Apple for the phones as they work very well with all the rest and I doubt that a Note 4 would be so smoothly integrated.

If I was a PC user (*shuddering at awful memories...*!) then I may well go with the Note though.

Agree that the 'full ecosystem' gives a strong incentive - I know many people in that situation. That said, I run virtually the full gamut (Android phone, iPad, Linux home PC, Windows work PC, Synology and WD NASes) without issues. With more and more things linked through the cloud, the lock in seems to be getting less of an issue to me. For instance, neither my phone or iPad are ever connected to any PC.
