Either that or they're waiting for WWDC next Tuesday (NZ time).

My complete guess is that it may tie in with the release of iOS 14.7 which is meant to be this month. WWDC is next week but I can't see its release being big enough of a deal to be mentioned, so my guess is around iOS 14.7 and the same time as their lossless audio is released.

Well it is June, but no ability to buy the HomePod mini yet. Maybe I'm just to eager? 😬 Does anyone have any info on when in June the HomePod mini will be available to buy from Apple NZ?

Apple are just like the Government....When they say "From XXX" they really mean "From late XXX" :)

We've struck timezone differences and WWDC from the list of checkpoints that open up Homepod Mini availability in NZ, so onward to iOS 14.7 release date as the next candidate.

“Apple also announced that the HomePod mini will be available to purchase in Austria, Ireland, and New Zealand starting later this month, followed by Italy later this year. The speaker first launched in November 2020.”

Still very vague... I wonder if they’re readying the supply chain or waiting for 14.7 (why?)?

Could be bolstering supply chain, although I wonder if there'll be a Siri NZ voice to coincide with the launch? Unlikely..

Australian bought Mini's work fine here, including Siri with NZ language set etc

I saw the article from MacRumors saying that but the Apple Store app still says unavailable. I’ve restarted the app a few times too.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

They edited the article. Initially it said it was now officially available in NZ.

Looking at these, can someone tell me:

a.  Can you disable the mic?

b.  I assume for things like spotify, airplay is the only option, but will it work from a PC (currently I have a jbl that has chromecast and airplay, spotify on the pc can see it and uses spotify connect)

Yes to Spotify. No to microphone, but privacy is a feature on HomePod. Voice processing is only triggered if “hey Siri” heard.
