I just called Apple and apparently they're willing to replace my iPhone 5 with a brand new one for $364 (im still under warranty until November 2013 FYI). I think it's a good deal. Thoughts?
I can't think of any other tech company that offers this sort of service. It is hard to fault. Of course they know the opportunity cost doing this. Lots of apps, music etc. Personally I would spend the extra and get the replacement from Apple.
Look, the Apple guy asked my credit card details as well as the security card, and I gave it away including name, exp date and the numbers. Is it the normal procedure?
mattgreen: I hate cases with a passion but have already dropped my 5 and nicked it (minor thankfully).. Thinking with a toddler I may have to bit the bullet and get something like these:
Both are super thin and should give some basic scratch/chip protection without (hopefully) covering up the glorious design.
I also hate covering up my iPhone, but I have one of these in clear http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/apple-iphone/iphone-5/iphone-5-case-ultra-thin-air-series.html and it's almost like no case at all. So, I think you'll like the any of the two you've listed above, they look great.
After reading some pretty bad reviews about the pinlo and desmay I ended up going super budget and got one of each of these from eBay..
For US$10 including shipping I didn't think I could go wrong.. Worst case I'd throw both in the bin. The $1.58 one doesn't fit that well but I'm very impressed with the $4.44 one. Just had to trim a bit of the mould plastic off. It covers the chamfered edge nicely.

That seems to be a good deal to me, swapping a second hand iphone for a new/refurbed one.
Had my iPhone 5 for a few weeks now but occasionally I notice that it doesn't vibrate when it's on silent when I receive a message (SMS or iMessage). Then the next message, it'll vibrate again and I won't notice the problem for a while.
Anyone else had this problem? Does this seem like a hardware or software issue?

Yeah, they seem to be pretty good about it. I got my iPhone 5 replaced under warranty, and it turns out they'd replaced it for the next model up (little known fact: there are two iPhone 5 models - 5,1 which is either GSM or CDMA only, and 5,2 which is GSM and CDMA).
Telegistics takes bloody forever to process a replacement though.
Prasharyanto: The guy, named Mikael, replied me that I need to send it over to Hellensvile and yes, the final price is $249. Has anyone used iDoctor's service before? Are they trusted repairer?
To sum up, here are my questions: 1. Does anyone know any repairer around Auckland that can replace iPhone 5 front glass at affordable price? 2. Has anyone ever used iDoctor's service? Are they trusted and by no means a fraud?

Trustworthy enough, but some repairs i have sent them in the last 3 months have taken around 1 month to come back to us.

I notice that NVS finally have their leather iPhone 5 cases out now. DSE is selling them for $70 though (on special with 20% off at the moment for $55.99).
I had a look and I like the leather, but, the corners don't seem to be as protected, as they are open through the leather surround. That put me off buying one for the moment.

I have noticed something similar but it seems to happen only when Message window is already open.

Umm.. the Straps are over the speakers and the corners are not protected (The main place which gets knocked when dropped)

That's why I didn't buy one. The one I have now is a cheaper one with a flip cover, but it sits in a rim that goes right the way around and protects the sides. I think I'll keep this one for now.
