I'm after a low power consumption computer that isn't a Raspberry Pi (because flash storage hates huge write loads)

Maybe a laptop (or macbook) with a broken screen, a SFF desktop PC. Those kind of things.

Needs to use under 100W of power.

I know it uses Flash Storage (But not in SD form like a RPi), but the have you considered the Intel NUC? It pulls about 20W at most. It's small and quick from what I've seen online.

Rooted Galaxy S4 or some random android?
(still uses flash) Hmm. Probably going to be best off with one of the old Dell mini laptops with the super mini HDD's. Slow as hell but sill. Get the job done?

Last core2 Duo 1.83GHz 2G Ram 200G HD cost me $250 on Trademe

You can get G4 based ones often for less than that.

Not sure if this is small or low power enough but Remarkit have Asus Eee Boxes for $190 (incl windows 7)

It shows out of stock for the one that doesn't ship with an OS but if you flick the drop down to Windows 7 they have stock.

I bought one from them a few weeks ago. Am running Windows 8.1 and have upgraded the RAM to 4GB (off ebay for $40). Runs nicely.

I've got an old Toshiba M2 laptop you can have if you're in Wellington. Old enough that it uses a PATA drive though which is probably due for replacement.
