RUKI: Plasma TVs are extremly power hungry. Why one would want that nowadays? Compared to LED - I personally see not reason to have plasma today...
I am gettig plasma tvs nowadays either for free and sometimes for $3-$45 when people just wish to get rid of them.
I dismantle them for parts for my projects and pay to dispose the rest.
Just dumped 3 screens, and one Panasonic (paid $20) and one LG (still working from friend who upgraded to full HD) are waiting to be dismantled.
Give me more!
The older - the better (~2004 - 2008). Older models are not HD and have more powerfull discrete components of my interest...
Cheers

The reason for wanting a top end plasma is that it still produces a better picture than new LCD / led tvs, even first gen 4k tvs.
Slightly more cost in power is a small price to pay for a quality picture.
Sorry to hijack the thread, just had to add my 2c.
PS if the op isn't interested in the TV in Auckland, I might be keen 😊

Kopkiwi: I have the new Sony 930C, coming from a Panasonis ST50, the clarity on the Sony beats the pants off the Panny, but boy does it lose out in contract, black and especially motion. I miss my old Panasonic.
timbosan: Hmm, I have a 65VT60 that I bought in April this year, still have the original box and all the accessories. I am in Auckland and it has crossed my mind to sell.
PM me if you want to discuss more.

timbosan: @33coupe - The set I have didn't work out for the friend of the OP - they where looking around $1000 for a 65TV60, and I wanted more. So if you (or anyone else) is still interested let me know.

o.O Deal of the century if they do manage to find one for $1000 or even close to it! ;-)
