Free to inquisitive DIY mind - Denso 12V 24W motor with centrifugal cooling fan and magnetic clutch - from Toyota Prius NHW-10
I take them from Hybrid batteries when I buy and dismantle those for parts.
Can easily be dismantled to detach motor from the rest. Motor can also be taken out of the white plastic cover.
Can be collected now in Auckland, near Hopetown / Hereford street / K-Rd (Freemans Bay)

Not yet... but would be keen...

- Tesla Power Bank to be installed at my place in the next few months;
- As for EVs - I am interested in everything electric / hybrid and would be keen on getting Nissan Leaf and Tesla (or just the motors + electronics + battery from wreck) into my Lab to tear it apart and see how things work ....

There are only a handful of Tesla and not many Leafs are on the New Zealand roads and nothing at wrecks as being told....

Thats a shame, I'd have thought someone would have crashed on by now. Must be the advanced accident avoidance electronics they have.

I'd love to get a classic mini and convert it to electric rear wheel drive.

Then you would need that type of expertise as was shown in the "Italian Job" movie where they have pimped those minis to be able to carry heavy loads of gold. Batteries for EVs are heavy still....

Conversion is now mainstream in few US states - motors and controllers are made in US, LiFe batteries - in China

I saw a youtube video a while ago where someone put a prius in an old American car body. Was a bit spooky seeing this big old classic car gliding along silently.

I came accross discussions on other forums about using plastic (not hard for DIY) vs metal and whether plastic shell was heavier or not. Based on one paricular DIY project - plastic shell was actually little bit heavier than the stock one.

As for this battery cooling motor - one is just gone, another reserved and will be picked on a weekend and I still have more to go....
Will be interesting to see the end result when those are put into good use...

It if fun to reuse parts salvaged from well engineered devices and give them new life in a new body.

I also love salvaging stuff, so thanks! This should make a good little extractor for welding / soldering in my workshop once I've worked up the remainder of it. Hopefully it flows enough for my purposes :P better than nothing anyway
