2x Seagate Constellation CS ST2000NC001 2TB drives.

3.5" SATA
7200 RPM

Open to offers. I just got these as a warranty replacement. I haven't removed them from their bags.

Please note, they are Factory Repaired by Seagate. According to the online warranty information, they are under warranty until May next year.

Would prefer to sell them together.

Shipping:

$5 - Within Auckland - Pass the Parcel (courier)
$8 - Rest of NZ - Pass the Parcel (courier)

I'm not involved in IT, so I don't really know how factory repaired drives are viewed by people in the know. I also don't know what they're worth, apart from what similar ones retail for (I know won't get retail).

Make what you think is a fair offer : )

Sure enterprise drives cost more but worth is a function of what someone else is prepared to pay. I would suggest that someone who is prepared to pay more for a re-certified enterprise drive is unlikely to buy it second hand as such. If its not a bargain as such I would not fancy your chances of selling them.

I was keen until a saw the price.

I'm a fan of WD drives personally, but Seagate have actually been pretty good to me in the last few years, so maybe I need to revisit my take on things.

Still regardless, as mentioned above, they may be fancier, but they're second hand now, and with an undetermined level of work over their lifetime, and have failed in the past.

Bottom line, I think your pricing expectations may be a bit off.

Hey guys,

You've made some really good points. The person who sent me a PM outlined what you said as well, that most people buying enterprise drives will buy new, so the market is limited.

The $300 price was the very top of his estimated price range. I thought I'd start off high and move heavily on the price if need be. Sorry to ruffle feathers with my price, it annoys me too seeing people over price things on TM.

I will consider offers over $200 + shipping. Hopefully this is more realistic, please let me know if I'm still off.

I rekon you are still off the mark - for second hand drives - I would be looking sub $200 all up...anything close to $200 I would be just going and grabbing them brand new (as mentioned in that link to pbtech)...sure, might not be Ent editions, but meh.
