I got given a Soundstation2 that's missing the power supply unit. This has been gathering dust for a long time so I'm wondering if anybody has a power supply that's unused they want to sell for a reasonable price?

It appears to be Polycom part # 2200-16020-001

That is just Power Over Ethernet type adapter. You do not have to pay $100 as per Amazon/EBay

Grab any one from another IT PoE PS (e.g. Sisco AP or similar) and reconfigure pinouts on the RJ-45 cable for Polycom:

Watch the reverse polarity as per above.

I think I have 3COM PS around which you can try (for free) in Auckland.

These aren't just a POE power supply. The IP Soundstation's are POE, but the analogue ones like I have have a standalone power supply that have a 8 pin cable between the power supply and the Soundstation, and the RJ11 phone cable plugs into the power supply.

I just looked up the part number you mentioned that returned pictures of PS with one RJ-45, two RJ-11 and 3.5 mm plug. If you know the pinout (you may wish to open the device and see if the PCB is marked) then making PS from the parts around is not a big deal. There are not too many different voltages used in the world of IT to justify buying proprietary PS when you can make one yourself (for yourself) just to try. Let me know if I can be of any help...

The issue is it's not just a power supply - the external module also contains the RJ11 port for the PSTN line and audio connectors for . I think there are smarts in the power supply for this, so I don't think it's a simple case of the RJ45 just containing power and 2 pair for the phone. I'd already tried this with a 2nd unit and didn't have much luck.

I'm not interested in paying $100 or so for a spare power supply as there are a lot of IP5000's that pop up on eBay for this.
