Owl Wireless Energy Monitor
Has been sitting since purchased. Not required anymore. Box looks bit worn but unit is new

Batteries can be included but I wouldn't use them as they came with the unit, still in plastic seal but have a date 03/2015 which I think might be manufacturing date instead of expiry not sure.

$120.00

Hi how does this work - you clip onto the outside of an appliance's power cord?

Not sure about appliance but it is designed to clip to on to the main red wire coming in our out of the power meter then the sensor wire goes in to the transmitter which transmits to the receiver and on the display you get the total power consumption in real time. You can set the cost and also see in dollar value.

I don't know but I don't think so as it doesn't say on the box.

A Sonoff Pow switch might suit your needs, like this one

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Sonoff-Pow-Smart-Wifi-Switch-Controller-With-Real-Time-Power-Consumption-Measurement-16A-3500w-Smart-Home/32819740584.html

If you want to complicate it further there are third party firmwares available, pretty sure it can publish over mqtt and integrate with home automation platforms.. https://github.com/arendst/Sonoff-Tasmota
