Wondering if anyone has a spare VDSL modem/router I can borrow for a week or so ?

My connection keeps dropping due to the router rebooting itself at random, yet ISP don't seem to be seeing the connection drop (its down for up to 5 mins at a time) and are not convinced its the router at fault, so want to try another router to confirm if its the line or the router (I'm pretty convinced its the router due to the fact I cant even ping it when it goes down and the up time resets).

Prefer Hibiscus Coast area but North Shore fine for me to pickup from.

TIA

I've got a spare ASUS and Netgear that I can get to Albany for you to collect?

Sounds like a weird one.. the sort of issues that come across my desk and find it relates to the router doing X or the linecard doing Y.

Is Voyager DHCP or PPPoE?

More than happy for you to borrow one of mine, not at all the right area for ya though!

Who is your provider and what modem are you currently using?

Yeah, hence why trying to rule out the router for now.  I just cant understand why they (ISP) cant see the PPP session being dropped, the entire router reboots killing it. Over a day I might experience 6 drop outs, but talking to the helpdesk they can only see one or two (which i could live with).

Theres no pattern that I've picked up on so far, although I havent been recording the times. And unfortunately SNMP and logging on the router dosent work (firmware bug).

My network isn't anything fancy, just router -> switch which has my desktop, Unifi, and a cable running to a 2nd identical switch in the garage with the "server", printer, Xbox and media box connected.

  • Encapsulation Protocol: PPPoE
  • Connection Type: PTM
