Last year sometime Hardkernel bought out the ODROID GO: https://www.hardkernel.com/shop/odroid-go/

This is quite a neat product with emulation for the following games consoles built in:
- Nintendo NES
- Game Boy
- Game Boy Colour
- Sega Master System
- Game Gear
- Coleco Vision

But as it is based on the ESP8266 it also has WiFi built in, Python, and a bunch of other things (and yes, I've got Doom running on this one). It is incredibly well built and feels solid in the hand - I just don't play it.

This will come fully assembled with a 8gb SD card. I'll leave the games on there (these were acquired from archive.org) so is ready to play. And yes, it'll play Pokemon. Putting games on it is easy - essentially involves putting the SD card in your PC and putting the game roms in the correct folder. The other fun aspect of it is you're able to flash the ESP with other firmware (not just game related) and there are a tonne of tutorials out there with how to do it.

This ODROID is in perfect condition also.

Any takers for $80 with free delivery NZ wide?

Those ESP chips are so freken awesome.

Fun fact... They aren't aren't very good at making a WiFi controlled partner.

Just a very unhappy one with doupoint holes in the feet...

I've used it for about 3 hours before and didn't notice much of a dip in battery voltage - I'd say maybe 5hrs of use? But honestly don't quote me on this as I've never had it to that level.

Here is a review:

Battery life as stated here is 10 hours. This is running the latest firmware with fixes for emulation and haven't noticed any problems at all.

Thanks for the info, I will pass for now. Really wanted to play Gameboy Advanced games which it doesn't look like it will do.

i do remember, but i also know how well an esp8266 drains batterys, esp32s tend to drain a bit more again.

i suppose it likely won't be hitting wifi too much. that's one of the larger drains.
