I'm interested.
I have a Coffee Lake machine running as a Hackintosh with a GTX 1050ti in it, which is a problem because there are currently no Nvidia drivers for OSX Mohave.
I also have a Linux mint machine with a GTX 970 in it. Which of these is better, in your opinion?

Hi Paul, not 100% sure what you're asking here, which of the 2 cards you currently have is better, or which of the 3 (including the RX580)? If so the RX580 is substantially better than the 1050Ti, and probably around 25%+ better than the 970 (depending on the game).

Quick comparison of any card / CPU. More detailed would involve looking up at specific resolution you're using, or if you're playing a few specific games.
I'm surprised that the 970 is better as it's a few years old now.
My use case isn't games, it's FCPX and the rather power hungry GoPro fusion footage stitcher, which relies on the GPU.
