Hey GZers!

I'm looking for all rackmount servers. The only requirements is that it has at least 1 HDD, CPU and some RAM (of course the more RAM the better).

I'd prefer the Christchurch region, but I can also do Auckland, and in a couple of weeks I'll be in Hamilton for the Geekzone event, and should be able to pick stuff up there too.

Hi! I'm TheoM, but you know that already. I run Linux mirrors in NZ together with 2degrees. Like a mirror added? PM me!

What price range and age?  I've got 2 Dell R710s that I can part with; I believe they're at 32GB DDR3 Rdimms in each, single Xeon L5630 westmere CPUs, 6 LFF drives and 4 caddies each(?), Dell Ready Rails, iDrac 6 Enterprise (iKVM), LSI 9211-8is (or the dell equivalent)... They're 2u units and to be honest they're not actually that noisy once started... I couldn't hear them from the basement in the kitchen which is directly above them with only old school timber boards keeping the noise out.

I've got a full description here: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumId=77&topicId=247878 note that I'm in Auckland.

Willing to listen on price as I'm not sure what they're really worth; I have more ram but not enough to make a balanced amount in both.  Also got a bunch of Dell 146GB SAS drives but they're really not of much use to most people!

PM me if you want to take this further.

Chris
