I'd like to buy or borrow an HDMI to USB converter so I can use my handycam (only outputs 720x576) as a webcam over the lockdown.  I'll be doing some video work for our church when I'm not phoning people to check how they're doing.

If anyone can sell me one, or can lend me one, I would greatly appreciate it.  Happy to pick up within the Wellington region or pay for postage.

Uhh.. unless you've got some specific function in your handycam that you really need the use of, isn't getting a cheap USB webcam going to be vastly easier and less costly than an HDMI -> USB converter? Just wondering, there seems to be a much simpler, cheaper way to reach the same goal.

I think I can get away with using OBS and the Virtual Webcam plugin to play prerecorded content into a videoconference.  Hopefully that works...
