Cleaning out a lot of my stuff I have had sitting around not doing anything I have a 17" late 2011 Macbook pro which I no longer want or need.

I have removed and reflowed the gpu on this and it is working perfectly. I did have it running Catalina but have taken the ssd out of it and put a 320gb hdd in it for sale.

At this stage I am open to expression's of interest because I have no idea what it would be worth. Yes I know the market dictates the price of something but I do not want to get ripped off either.

No dig dings or big scratches and case is in good shape considering its age.

Would it be worth $300 - $400 ??

I just don't know so would like some guidance if possible.

Hi there. Does this model officially support the lastest OSX?

I thought they stopped at Yosemite?

Also if you included the SSD with the machine, what would you sell my for then?

As an indicator, I sold my 1 owner i7 17" 12 months ago. It was mint condition with optional matt screen, 16GB & 750GB 850 Evo & no GPU (Nvidia) problems, dual booting High Sierra & Win 10 Pro, Trademe got me $800. I paid $4500 during RWC 2011 & figured I got good value from over 8 years.

That was the last but one model of the 17" MBP. I traded the last model 6 months ago, again a one owner i7, 8GB, 500GB SSD & no problems with the ATi graphics. That one sold privately for $600.

Someone wants your MBP, there's nothing like screen real estate.

No latest supported os is High Sierra , You can run a patch to install Catalina which works fine but no hand off as bluetooth is to of an old version.

If I put a 250gb ssd in then would let it go for $450 I guess.

Ok guys so going to put a price of $400 on it with the 320gb hdd and $450 if a 250gb ssd is installed instead. Sorry but that is the only spare ssd I have at the moment.

It does come with a charger as well.

If somebody does want to part with their hard earned cash for it then you can choose what version of max os you want.

Hi, is it this model?

https://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-core-i7-2.4-17-late-2011-unibody-thunderbolt-specs.html

I could be interested.  But where in NZ are you?  Is this something you are looking to trade during the lockdown?

Awesome machine! I don’t need another Mac but I love seeing old ones like this still in use.
