I've got a three day walk planned in the Thames hills with my young boys the week after easter and need a tramping pack with some volume to help carry some of their kit too.

We haven't done any tramps like this before so I'm loathe to pay full price for a pack that only gets used once or twice.

I'll be looking for a Large or Medium Large size. It will need a rain cover and ideally is relatively modern for ergonomics.

The brand doesn't matter too much but my budget can flex to accommodate something if it's special.

Looking to spend around $150.

If anyone has something gathering dust I can pickup then please PM with some details/pics.

As an alternate to purchase .... can you hire one?  Bivouac and other stores advertise gear hire.  Might be cheaper than buying second hand if it turns out to be a one off.

Have a look at Mountain Warehouse. They usually have 50% off sales and the gear can be pretty decent, especially for the price. Recommend going and trying some on in store.

$239.99 Save 50% $119.99. Then buy a separate rain cover?

Recently got this for the Milford Track. https://www.macpac.co.nz/macpac-torlesse-50l-hiking-backpack/115002-HGTDE-S3.html

Price is a bit above your budget but it served my purpose very well.
