I have a couple of Windows Mobile devices that are free to a good home:
- HTC Touch Dual (GSM/GPRS/HSDPA), suitable for Vodafone and 2degrees. It will work on 3G/HSDPA but not on 900 MHz cell sites. It will not work on Telecom XT at all. Don't bother asking. This one has some scratches on the body, but had a screen protector since day one, so screen should be really good. No stylus, no USB cable, no headsets, just the handset. Running the original Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Bluetooth, no WiFi.
- i-mate Pocket PC... The original one Pocket PC (HTC Himalaya), running Windows Mobile 5.0 - cradle and USB cable. GSM/GPRS only, suitable for Vodafone and 2degrees. It will not work on Telecom XT since there's no 3G at all on this model (this was before 3G was even deployed around the world). Bluetooth, no WiFi.
You can use both for real life communications (you know: SMS, Messenger, Exchange, IMAP, POP) and obviously more if you install any Windows Mobile programs. You will need Activesync or WMDC to sync these with your Windows PC.
Good devices to use for experimenting with hardware, or whatever.
THESE ARE NOT WINDOWS PHONE. THESE ARE WINDOWS MOBILE.
Free in Wellington, might charge some bucks to send anywhere else.
