The first day, I ran it wired. No issues. Then I decided to go Wireless as I have a fritz!box 7390 which has support for simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz connections. Roku 3 also has support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz connections. I have it connected to the 5GHz band. Distance from the WiFi router is 25M away and no buffering.

I very very rarely get buffering. If I do, it always at the start when I am opening the Dishworld IPTV app on Roku 3 and it's starting to showing me a channel on the TV. Once I am in the app, never experienced buffering.

Remember, your ISP plays a big part in this. I am with Snap on a VDLS2 connection. Their bandwidth for US routes is great.

Do whatever you want to do man.

thanks for your help mate. I just set up unotelly and already see a difference. There seems to be less buffering :D

I've got a question for you Roku users in NZ. Do you need to sign into a Hulu+ and a Neflix account with Roku, or are those services included by default with Roku?

If you do have to sign in to an account, both Netflix and Hulu + require a US postal address and a credit card with a US address.

How do people in NZ get around those requirements?

You need a Netflix and Hulu account before you setup your Roku. You then link the Roku to your existing Hulu/Netflix accounts.

Yes you need a US postal address for both of the above.

Netflix works with my NZ Westpac credit card. Hulu does not but its works with my AirNZ onesmart debit master card.

Plenty of threads here on geekzone detailing the above.

In regards to NetFlix and Hulu+, I have US iTunes account and I use my Apple TV (with US iTunes account logged in) and signed up for trial and it automatically clipped in to use my US iTunes account for subscription.

You can cancel the subscription, before the trial ends. Easiest setup for NetFlix and Hulu+ as I don't have to mess with US address/payment method etc.

I use unblock.us.com to get it to work for a VPN I have a netflixs account paid by PayPal and vudu you use you New Zealand address and a US post code I used 90210 and it worked fine , also you can buy netflex cards online from Jerrycards.com which I have also use to buy ITunes US cards also netflix a few time
